50 Cent and Kenya Barris team up for Netflix’s ‘The 50th Law’ series

Leon Bennett/WireImageCurtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Kenya Barris, two of the most prolific names in television production today, are teaming up to develop a Netflix series based on 50’s best-selling book, The 50th Law.

On Tuesday, the Power executive producer took to Instagram to announce the transformation of his 2009 book into a series, which he predicts will be just as successful as his Power franchise. 

“This one is going to be #1 on Netflix. Boom. The 50th Law,” wrote 50 in the caption. “I got the best writers. @kenyabarris know we are not playing no games. Green light gang.”

According to Deadline, 50 will executive produce the potential series based on his semi-autobiographical book, with Barris and Hale Rothstein writing the pilot script.

The 50th Lawwritten by 50 and author Robert Greene, details 50’s rise to fame from a young hustler growing up in Queens, New York, to becoming an up-and-coming rapper following the release of his debut album, Get Rich or Die Tryin.’ The inspirational book shares stories about overcoming adversity and is the perfect read for entrepreneurs, as well as those interested in the life story of rapper-turned-entertainment mogul, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
