Warner Bros.Prince not only holds the #1 and #2 spots on the Billboard album chart, but in the wake of his tragic death last week, six of his biggest hits have all re-entered the Billboard Hot 100.
“Purple Rain” is the top-seller among Prince’s classics, and it’s actually the top-selling song of the entire week, reports Billboard. According to Nielsen Music, it sold 122,000 copies, and has entered the chart at #17. The song originally hit #2 in 1984.
Here are the other Prince songs that have re-appeared on the chart, along with their top positions when they were first released:
#20, “When Doves Cry” (No. 1, 1984)
#28, “Kiss” (No. 1, 1986)
#29, “Little Red Corvette” (No. 6, 1983)
#39, “Let’s Go Crazy” (No. 1,1984)
#41, “1999” (No. 12, 1983)
