A$AP Rocky awards Lil Baby, Young Thug and Lil Durk with Yammy Awards

ABC In honor of the recently-delayed Grammy Awards, A$AP Rocky held his own ceremony, dubbed, the Yammy Awards, as part of the virtual Yams Day 2021. 

On Monday night, the A$AP Mob rap collective awarded a number of artists, “who we and the people feel honestly earned and deserved it.” 

Grammy-nominated Lil Baby made a virtual appearance to accept the the Yamborghini High Award. “I want to shoutout to A$AP Rocky, the whole A$AP fam. I want to thank y’all for the Yamborghini High Award,” said the “Bigger Picture” rapper during a virtual appearance. 

Young Thug received the Hella Flows Award, most likely for his unique repetition of song lyrics and clever wordplay, as heard on his latest track, “Take It 2 Trial.” 

And last but not least, newly Grammy-nominated rapper Lil Durk was honored with the New Level Award. His melodic performance on Drake‘s “Laugh Now, Cry Later” earned him two Grammy nods at the upcoming 2021 Grammy Awards in March. 

Nominees for The Ladies Award — which has yet to be announced — include a blend of newcomers and heavyweights such as Cardi B, Flo Milli, Mulatto, City Girls, Saweetie, Princess Nokia, Rico Nasty and Young M.A. 

The virtual Yams Day 2021 was held in honor of A$AP Yams, the 26-year-old co-founder of A$AP Mob who died on Jan. 18th, 2015. Yams is responsible for jumpstarting Rocky’s career, as well as “Plain Jane” rapper A$AP Ferg
