‘ABC orders Kids Say the Darnedest Things’ revival with Tiffany Haddish as host

by

ABC/Paula LoboABC has tapped Tiffany Haddish to host a revival of the iconic variety show Kids Say the Darndest Things.

The network announced on Tuesday that it has greenlit a new version of the variety show executive produced and hosted by the comedian and actress. The new series, which will be filmed in front of a live studio audience, will offer a mix of in-studio segments in addition to taped segments from across the country.

Some of the show’s segments include “Kids Rule,” in which kids explain to Haddish the rules for everything from sportsmanship to dating; “Love Talk,” where Haddish gets advice on her love life; “Best Carpool Ever,” where Haddish takes on carpool duties with a minivan full of kids; and “Granny Tiff,” where Haddish dresses up as an older woman and receives technology advice from children.

“I’m excited to hear what kids have to say these days because I can’t understand what they are saying on social media,” Haddish said in a statement. “They’re using too many abbreviations!”

This is the latest project for Haddish, who currently stars in TBS’s The Last O.G. and on the Netflix animated series Tuca & Bertie. She also has multiple movies coming up, including The Kitchen, Limited Partners, and the buddy cop comedy Down Under Cover with Chris Hemsworth.

Kids Say the Darnedest Things will air Sunday nights at 8 p.m. ET in the fall.
