RCA/Paola KudackiAlicia Keys throws a block party in her new “In Common” video which she premiered Friday.
Alicia says in a statement, “This video is about celebrating our individuality, and how in the brilliance of our uniqueness, the magic of it all is at the core, we are all the same.” She continues, “We want the same things. We all want to experience love, the freedom to be our truest selves, to love whomever we want and to be accepted and celebrated for all of our nuances and so called imperfections that make us, us.”
Directed by Pierre Debusschere, the black-and-white clip features Keys singing on a fire escape as she’s joined by children and adults dancing along a police barrier.
“In Common” is the first single from Keys’ sixth studio album which is expected to be released this summer. She will perform the song May 28 at the UEFA European Champions League soccer championship game in Milan, Italy.
