Michelangelo Di Battista/ RCA RecordsAlicia Keys is proud working mother. The singer says being a mother of two has definitely shifted her perspective.
“Becoming a mother definitely allowed me to start making, what I would call, better decisions, like more sound decisions and just have a reason for making them,” the singer tells Billboard. “Whereas before, I maybe could just do anything at anytime and 300 people told me I should, so okay, I did,” Alicia says, referring to life before having her two children, Egypt and Genesis, with husband Swizz Beatz.
“Now, its more about what choices and decisions I need to make for myself and my family. And so its definitely changed my whole life, my whole perspective and its given me so much more,” she says. “I’m way better than ever before.”
Keys is also working on new material for her follow-up to 2012’s Girl.
