Jane Chika Oranika, known by her rap name Chika, posted a series of tweets over the weekend, updating fans on her health status, after she alluded that she was planning to attempt suicide.

“alive. wanna go home,” the 25-year-old rapper wrote on Twitter on Sunday. She continued on tweeting, “leaving the hospital. not that i should care about updating anyone besides family,” and “i just wanna be left alone, if that’s okay. i appreciate the prayers and stuff. thanks.”

Initial concern for Chika’s well-being came after the Alabama native posted a lengthy message on Instagram detailing what seemed to be plans to take her life. “I went to the top of the intercontinental, but could not jump,” she started. That was followed by posts that read, “im not making it home,” and “find my body in St. Paul idgaf.”

Fans and stars commented on the note, soliciting kind words and prayers for the struggling rapper. “Jesus I hope she is ok,” said entrepreneur Premadonna, while a fan wrote, “She’s been struggling so long with this and I hate this for her.”

The Grammy-nominated artist has been open about her struggle with depression in the past and even considered retiring from music because of it.

As of Monday afternoon, the rapper continued to tweet, addressing fan comments and stating that her public display of struggle is certainly not a part of a marketing scheme.
