Anderson .Paak connects with Smokey Robinson for soulful ballad Make It Better

by

Joseph Okpako/WireImageFresh off his Grammy win in February for Best Rap Performance, Anderson .Paak has enlisted Motown legend Smokey Robinson for his newest single, “Make It Better.”

The track serves as a sneak peek of what fans can expect from .Paak’s forthcoming album Ventura.

Over a soulful medley of chords and keys, the Cali-bred crooner sings of falling “right out of touch” with his lover, while Robinson lends his vocals on the song’s chorus.

In the accompanying visual, .Paak is seen navigating the ups-and-downs of his relationship via a montage of scenes, from the moment he and his girlfriend first meet to their troubles, and then, ultimately, their reunion.

Due to arrive on April 12, Ventura is set to feature guest spots from Andre 3000BrandyJazmine Sullivan, the late Nate Dogg and more. The 11-track LP is the follow-up to .Paak’s 2018 release Oxnard
