Warner Brothers/Getty ImagesPurple Rain‘s leading lady, Apollonia Kotero, has written an open letter to her former lover and Purple Rain co-star, Prince, that she’s posted on her official Facebook page.
“My Dear Prince,” the letter begins. “I have never known you to leave the stage so early. 4 long, dreadful months have passed since God welcomed you home.”
Apollonia continues, “Grief, depression, anger and loneliness are like those bullies who taunted me in grade school. My life has been a vortex of rage and despair. Waves of sadness washing away the pieces of my broken heart. My own personal hell on Earth. I feel like your widow.”
The agonizing note was posted by the actress and singer one day before her panel appearance at the Purple Rain: Celebration film screening and discussion event at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences in Beverly Hills, California.
