Aretha Franklin Cancels Two Florida Concerts This Month

by

Monica Morgan/WireImageAretha Franklin has canceled two of three concerts she was scheduled to play in Florida this month — a show in Saratoga that was to have taken place tonight and a March 24 gig in St. Augustine. The Saratoga performance was being nixed “due to lack of band personnel,” according to a message posted on Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall’s official Facebook page.

As for the St. Augustine concert, which had been slated to take place at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, that venue’s website reports that the gig was being canceled because of “unforeseen circumstances.”

Both venues announced that ticket holders can get refunds at the point of purchase.

A rep for the Queen of Soul confirmed to Billboard that Aretha’s other Florida appearance, a headlining performance this Saturday, March 19, at the Jazz in the Gardens Music Festival in Miami Gardens, will go ahead as planned. Franklin’s upcoming itinerary also includes a May 19 concert in Durham, North Carolina, and a July 24 show in Cincinnati.
