Scott Dudelson/Getty ImagesJ. Cole’s protégé Ari Lennox kicked off her first headlining tour earlier this month, and the ”Up Late” singer says she makes sure her fans feel like she’s invited them into her home.
“Regardless of how big or small, it’s gonna have that same intimate vibe,” she tells ABC Radio. “I’m just going to make sure like, y’all are in my living room. And that’s the type of setting. I want the stage to look like an apartment, or a walk in closet. Like that’s the vibe.”
The 28-year-old singer toured earlier with Cole on the Dreamville Festival, and she says she loves touring now on her own.
“It’s just really vibes. Like it’s just going to be like your sister on stage, acting a ratchet mess, or not acting just being,” she says. “Singing on key and just having fun…It’s just gonna be free.”
Lennox’ 24-city tour wraps up on June 14 in her hometown, Washington, D.C.
