Beyoncé and Jay-Z made a quicker-than-expected exit at the Atlanta stop on their On the Run II tour on Saturday, thanks to a man who ran on stage and chased the couple.
Bey and Jay were walking off the stage following their closing number, “Apesh**t,” when the fan rushed the stage. Several videos — one taken from the side of the stage, one from head-on and one an overhead shot — shared on social media show the guy sneaking past security and walking up the stairs and running onto the stage.
He then slips past a line of stunned back-up dancers, who recover and chase after him, along with security. The overzealous fan was finally apprehended and, after a tussle, dragged off the stage.
It’s not clear how close he actually got to the Carters, but Beyoncé’s rep, Yvette Noel-Schure, posted a photo of the couple on Instagram shortly after, captioned, “@Beyonce and JAY-Z on stage tonight in Atlanta. Thank you to all the fans for your concern. They are fine and looking forward to the show tomorrow.”
Beyoncé and JAY-Z’s On the Run tour picks up in Orlando, Florida on Wednesday.
