PRNewsfoto/Live Nation EntertainmentA severe thunderstorm forced fans at Beyoncé and JAY-Z‘s concert at New Jersey’s Met Life Stadium Thursday night to head for cover before the show began.

Bey and JAY were about to kick off the first of two New Jersey dates on their OTR II tour at 10:21 p.m. ET, when stadium officials asked fans to move to various parts of the stadium for cover. The venue also posted updates on its official Twitter page.

“IMPORTANT WEATHER INFORMATION. ATTENTION PLEASE: WE EXPECT THE WEATHER SITUATION TO CLEAR UP SHORTLY. PLEASE STAND BY FOR FURTHER UPDATES. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE,” read the first tweet, followed a half-hour later with, “At this time, we ask you please return to your seats. Show will go on!”

Many fans posted videos on social media of stadium officials guiding fans to safety, including one concert-goer who wrote, “soooo a bad thunderstorm is approaching and everyone waiting for Beyonce and Jay Z at MetLife stadium has to get out of our seats to seek shelter immediately omg.”

Beyoncé and JAY-Z’s OTR II tour picks up on Friday with a second Met Life Stadium show.
