Beyonce announces partnership of a lifetime with Adidas

Thursday, the Grammy-winning singer announced that she will be joining forces with the sportswear brand for a “multi-layered” partnership.

With this collaboration, Bey will serve as Adidas’s newest creative partner and will relaunch her Ivy Park athleisure line under the brand. The partnership also continues the global star’s journey as one of the first black women to be the sole owner of an athleisure brand. 

In addition, the Everything Is Love vocalist will assist in the development of footwear, lifestyle and sports apparel for Adidas. 

“This is the partnership of a lifetime for me,” Beyoncé said in a statement. “Adidas has had tremendous success in pushing creative boundaries.”

She continued, “We share a philosophy that puts creativity, growth and social responsibility at the forefront of business. I look forward to re-launching and expanding Ivy Park on a truly global scale with a proven, dynamic leader.”

Through this new creative endeavor, Bey and Adidas also aim to launch a “purpose-driven program” which will “empower and enable the next generation of athletes, creators and leaders.”

Late last year, Beyoncé and her Parkwood company ended their professional relationship with Top Shop, buying British tycoon and Ivy Park partner Sir Philip Green‘s remaining shares in the company amid allegations of sexual assault against him.
