Beyonce seemingly has found a friend in Nicki Minaj, whom she recently collaborated with during an onstage performance of “Feeling Myself” in Brooklyn last week. Now, Queen Bey has paid tribute to her new bestie by revamping Prince’s classic song “Darling Nicki.”

In a black-and-white clip posted to YouTube, Beyonce declares Nicki a rap queen. “I met this girl named Nicki, I guess you could say she was the rap queen,” sings Bey. “I met her in the studio lobby, but her booty looked bigger in the magazines. She said, Bey will you jump on this song of mine? How could I resist when I heard little Nicki rhyme?”

After hearing the tune, Nicki later responded by tweeting: “Bey has spoken #RapQueen #QueenBey my #bayBey.”

Bey’s tune soundtracks candid footage from rehearsals for the Brooklyn performance, in which Bey challenges Nicki to “ice grill” her without cracking a smile.
