Beyoncé is changing the game again, this time in the fashion realm.
According Vogue, the diva hired Jillian Mercado, a model with muscular dystrophy, to front her new “Formation” merchandise campaign. “Mercado is one of the few models with disabilities, but her presence on Beyoncé’s campaign could soon change that,” Vogue writes. On Twitter, Mercao described the opportunity as “surreal and amazing.”
In the campaign, including images on the merch page of Beyonce’s official website, the model dons apparel with lyrics from Bey’s controversial song, like a “Hot Sauce” cap and an “I Twirl on Them Haters” sweatshirt. The new merch is available now.
