Following Beyonce‘s yacht vacation in Italy with her husband, Jay Z, and daughter, Blue Ivy, the singer kicked off the Brazilian leg of her Mrs. Carter World tour in Fortazela on Sunday. Before she performed for her legion of fans, the diva opened up about what inspired her to name the outing after her husband’s last name.
For Bey, the name represents finding a balance. “I’m touring with my daughter for the first time,” she said during a press conference. “And my dream has always been to be able to balance my life and my career and I think its the one thing that women struggle with because its so difficult having a career and being a mother.”
The singer goes on to add, “When I’m able to travel to places like Brazil, it makes me so proud that [Blue Ivy is] able to experience these different cultures, meet interesting people and eat amazing food at such a young age. it makes me really proud of my job.”
Beyonce concludes, “It makes me really really proud that music can impact so many people and bring so many people together.”
As previously reported, Bey’s lengthy Latin American leg will include stops in Brazil, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Mexico and Columbia before her Australia and New Zealand leg begins next month.
