Brandon Kyle Goodman hopes to heal audiences with season four of ‘Big Mouth’

by

Jonny MarlowActor Brandon Kyle Goodman stepped into the writer’s room for the upcoming season of Netflix’s animated hit series, Big Mouth.

The edgy comedy follows a group of teenage friends who find themselves navigating the wonders and horrors of puberty, with the help of some unfiltered, raunchy hormone monsters along the way.

Goodman tells ABC Audio season four will touch on “different battles” with mental health issues.

“Season four of Big Mouth is all about anxiety,” says the 33-year-old. “We actually wrote that season at the top of 2019 and now we’re in 2020 and there is no better time to talk about anxiety. We’re going to watch our characters have different battles with anxiety, but also hopefully overcome it.”

“My hope is that our audience, whether it’s teenagers or adults like me, [are] able to take away tools and language for how we’re all feeling, how to talk about what we’re feeling and how to move through what we’re feeling and I hope, heal from it.”

Brandon emerged in the entertainment industry as a powerful force and voice to be reckoned with after starring in the Amazon Prime series, Modern Love.

To help bring more diverse and powerful characters to life on the screen, Brandon has also signed on to write and voice a character for season five, as well as the Big Mouth spin-off, Human Resources.

New episodes of Big Mouth return December 4 on Netflix.
