Buss It rapper Erica Banks opens up about working with Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj

by

Prince Williams/WireimageAs her “Buss It” single continues to fuel the latest viral dance challenge, Dallas rapper Erica Banks has her focus set on working with two heavyweight emcees.

During an interview with The Shade Room, Banks was asked whether or not she would work with fellow Texas rapper Megan Thee Stallion, who is also signed to Carl Crawford‘s 1501 Certified Entertainment label.

“I would collab with Megan Thee Stallion because, at the end of the day, it’s all business. It’s nothing personal,” said Banks.

Megan sued 1501 Certified last year over her contract, which didn’t allow her to release new music, which in turn delayed the November release of her debut album, Good News. While social media fans have often compared the rappers, Banks says she simply wants to focus on the music.

“At the end of the day, we’re all artists and at the end of the day, we all do music,” she continued. “So, anything personal, which there is nothing, I wouldn’t even look at outside the business. So, we artists, we rap. It’s all good.”

Erica also admitted she hasn’t thought about creating a remix to her viral hit song, which earned her first Billboard Hot 100 placement. But she has one New York rapper in mind to join her.

“We ain’t even talked about no remix. That ain’t even on the roster but everybody keep asking, so maybe, I don’t know, we might end up doing it,” says Banks. “But I can’t hear none other than the Nicki Minaj [on it] because who better than Nicki Minaj?”
