Chance the Rapper announces Special Olympics 50th Anniversary concert in Chicago featuring Smokey Robinson

ABC/Randy HolmesChance the Rapper is producing a concert for the 50th anniversary of the Special Olympics in Chicago, and his headliner is Smokey Robinson.

Chance promoted the July 21 event on Instagram with a concert poster and the comment,  “I’m happy to announce that my new production company SFP and I are producing the 50th anniversary of the Special Olympics here in Chicago.” The Windy city is Chance’s hometown.

Pop singer Jason Mraz and the rock band O.A.R will also perform, with more special guests to be added for the show, which will take place at the Northerly Island amphitheater in Chicago.

This year, the Special Olympics are being held July 1-6 in Seattle.
