Chris Brown was accused of missing an appearance in honor of gay pride, but the singer says he was never scheduled to appear and says he has “nothing but love and respect for the LGBT community.”

On Monday The Georgia Voice reported that the singer failed to show up at The Georgia Freight Depot nightclub during Atlanta Black Gay Pride Weekend to introduce Teyana Taylor once he learned that the event would have gay men present. The show was billed as “biggest girl party in the country with over 4,000 women in attendance.”  And Melissa Scott, party promoter and founder of Traxx Girls, told the publication that her organization had paid Brown a retainer. Fetty Wap was later called in to replace Brown, The Georgia Voice reported.

But the singer took to Twitter later in the day to deny the allegations. “I honestly wasn’t booked for the show,” Brown tweeted.  “Hopefully in the future we can do it right. ”  He also wrote, “I wasn’t aware or informed of a show I supposedly cancelled. I have nothing but love and respect for the LGBT COMMUNITY.”
