Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are coming to the defense of Muhammad Ali after Piers Morgan called the late boxing champ racist.

After the passing of the heavyweight champ Friday, Morgan criticized Ali on social media, tweeting, “Muhammad Ali said far more inflammatory/racist things about whites than Donald Trump ever has about Muslims,” The talk show host went further, saying, “Why sugar-coat what Ali said or stood for? He never did that to himself, or when speaking of others.”

John countered Morgan, saying, “you could test us by announcing your retirement.” Teigen followed suit, writing, “from what? trolling isn’t a job (I’ve tried).”

Piers quickly replied to the couple, writing, “Maybe I should take up a proper job, like modelling?” to which Teigen replied, “it keeps me nice and non-racist so sure, give it a go.”

Legend then bowed out but Teigen got off one last shot at Morgan, saying she couldn’t “tweet him anymore” because her newborn baby had asked her “why is piers morgan so unequivocally douchy?”

Morgan attempted to defend his views in his Daily Mail column Monday, writing, “I didn’t intend to disrespect Ali with my tweet, as many claimed.  “Why would I when just 24 hours earlier I had written a heartfelt tribute to him as the greatest superstar icon of my lifetime?” said Morgan.  “But I did intend to offer the anti-Trump brigade some historical perspective about their own hero as they vented their collective spleen. Of course, that spleen then promptly vented itself on me, but I make no apology.”
