Patrick DemarchelierCiara displays some serious female love in Glamour Magazine’s September 2016 issue. The newlywed is featured in the magazine’s “54 Amazing Women on What It Means to Be an American Woman in 2016” portrait spread, which includes fellow celebrities such as Odd Future hip-hop producer Syd, Andra Day and actress Amandla Stenberg.
The performer says she believes that for females today, anything is possible. “I believe 2016 is the Year of the Woman and now more than ever, it is our time to accomplish anything and everything. Anything is possible for women, including being a presidential nominee (and I anticipate we will welcome our first female president in the history of the United States)!”
As for what makes her truly American, Ciara proudly says that she is honored to be one, for many reasons. “I’m a military baby, and it makes me proud to know that I’m the child of two parents that served our country. I feel very connected to our country….AND, I love cheeseburgers and Southern cuisine.”
