Image Courtesy Epic RecordsEarlier this week, Ciara offered fans a taste of an acoustic version of her latest single, “I Bet.” Now, she’s released the full-length video of the performance.
In the black-and-white video, which is streaming on People magazine’s website, the singer is accompanied by just a guitarist and pianist, as well as three background singers as they perform the tune, which spotlights Ci Ci’s painful past with ex-fiancé Future.
“As a songwriter, I always pull from my life experiences as well as the experiences shared by others,” Ciara told People. “It is important to me that my music feels real.”
“As soon as I had my son, everything changed,” said the new mom, who gave birth to son Future Zahir Wilburn in May. “I am now experiencing what [my mother] must have when I was young. [Becoming a mom] has inspired my creative process…and given me clarity both with songwriting as well as musicality for the album.”
“I Bet,” which was produced by Harmony Samuels, is the first single from Ciara’s upcoming, sixth album, Jackie. The song was co-written by Rock City and is now available on digital retailers.
