In an interview with Fault magazine, the 34-year old wife and mother reflects on her musical journey and how motherhood impacted her career.
“I am so fortunate to have been given this platform and I want it to stand for something in the long run. I kicked off this era by Leveling Up!” Ciara says. “I want to be an inspiration to other young people out there to follow their dreams and never give up. Fans can expect more music and even more dancing!”
The Grammy award-winning singer has been in the game for 15+ years, receiving accolades and awards for seven studio albums. Ciara’s 2019 album, Beauty Marks, includes the singles “Level Up,” “Freak Me,” “Dose,” “Greatest Love,” and “Thinkin Bout You.” And Ciara feels no pressure to slow down anytime soon, going after everything she wants, while sharing these experiences with her children.
“My kids are a constant source of inspiration for my music and having two kids (and one on the way) has made me much more efficient with my time when I am in work mode,” Ciara said. “I feel like I am more free in the creative process because of how they changed my life. I no longer overthink the process the way I used to at times.”
Ciara is expecting her second child with husband Russell Wilson. She has a son, Future from a previous relationship.
