Image Courtesy Epic RecordsCiara has given new details about her long-awaited album, Jackie.

While overseas for a promo-run in Australia, the singer revealed that the set will arrive sooner than expected. “It will come out in May,” she tells KateWaterhouse.com. “My album is called Jackie, which is my mum’s name. It’s inspired by how I can now see the world through her eyes, being a mom, and so that’s where the title came from.”

Ci Ci also explained her recording process for the set, which includes her love-scorned single “I Bet.”

“Making an album for me, I always have a vision of what I want to do, but this time I was super specific because I feel like it’s such an important time for me, personally, professionally and musically,” she says. “I am doing everything I could dream of for this album. Sonically I am so content; I had my dream team of producers who I always wanted to work with.”

When asked if there’s one guest feature that she’s hoping for, Ciara reveals: “I want to do a collaboration with Janet [Jackson] — I think that would be really cool. She’s queen!”

As expected, Ciara released the official video for the single “I Bet” Monday. The video opens and ends with a wind-up ballerina music box.  In between, Ciara wears ballet pointe shoes, a tutu and at times, a white leotard with matching white leg warmers, as she sings.
