by

ABC/Image Group LACiara‘s hosting the Hollywood Party segments of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest on December 31.

She says that the opportunity is especially “incredible” because she grew up watching the show.

“Just like the rest of the world everyone looks for the ball to drop and this is the show to watch. So it’s pretty amazing for so many reasons,” she adds.

“[It’s] just kind of crazy how I could flashback to being this young girl watching the show not knowing that one day I’d be actually hosting the show and I have performed on the show before too. I look forward to performing more on the show too, so, it’s really cool,” Ciara continues.

The “1, 2 Step” artist also says that she looks forward to celebrating New Year’s Eve since it’s a chance for a fresh new start.

“You’re walking into a new year. It’s a new year…new opportunity to do even better things. To continue reaching for your goals and also setting new goals.”

“It’s also a new year to grow. There’s so many amazing things and, of course, the party. Ringing in the new year [with a] party is always fun.”

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest starts Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
