The Seattle Seahawks quarterback married the singer in a lavish wedding in Cheshire, England on July 6, complete with a castle, Cavalli Couture wedding gown and live performances by legendary band Earth, Wind & Fire and iconic gospel singer Marvin Sapp. Still, the best part of the wedding, according to Wilson, was simply watching his bride walk down the aisle, he tells PEOPLE.
“I had so many [thoughts], but to see her gracefully walk down the aisle in that long train… and to realize I was going to spend the rest of my life with her gives me chills,” Wilson said to PEOPLE.
Wilson also disclosed that from the first day they met, he felt that Ciara was always the one he would eventually marry.
“Ever since the first day I met her, she’s always been, honestly, my best friend,” he said. “We’ve been so close.”
