Alo Ceballos/GC ImagesComedian Pete Holmes remembers one time during his stand-up act when he politely told a heckler to “Shut the f*** up” — and the heckler turned out to be Barack Obama’s eldest daughter, Malia Obama.
On an episode of Conan, Holmes recalls two young women in the front row of his show in Cambridge, Masschusetts whispering and giggling, and called them a “terrible comedy audience.”
After a few polite gestures, he says he told the women to “please shut the f*** up.” When words didn’t work, the comedian chose not to see them anymore: He covered the two women with the stage curtain — and then, the whole audience turned on him.
Holmes admits to Conan that he didn’t find out it was Obama’s daughter until after the show.
“I should have been shot!,” Holmes tells Conan O’Brien. “I’ve never got off stage thinking, ‘Why wasn’t I shot?’”
