DaBaby teases fans with music release date for Blame It on Baby

by

Daniel RamosLast year, North Carolina rapper DaBaby dropped not one, but two albums: his gold-certified debut Baby On Baby in March, and his sophomore album, Kirk, in September, which topped the Billboard 200 chart.

Now here the Billion Dollar Entertainment CEO is again, gearing up to drop brand-new music this Friday, never mind that he’s social distancing because of COVID-19.

“Blame It On Baby,” he wrote on Instagram, paired with a graphic photo of himself wearing a protective face mask. “This Friday MF!” he finished the post, with the hashtag #ImCutLikeDat.

Fans are unsure whether DaBaby will drop a song or a full-length album, but the CD emoji he adds to his post could be a clue. Either way, the post received tons of praise from fans and other artists, like Grand Hustle’s T.I. and New York rapper Casanova, who wrote, “You Cutting Up” in the comments after suggesting it was another album. “Let’s go!” he said.

This is quite impressive for DaBaby, who’s known for his steady work ethic, releasing six mixtapes in 2017 and dominating last year with creative visuals for “Suge” “Bop,” “Off The Rip” and “Walker Texas Ranger” and more, which each reached over million views in the first 24 hours.

Two weeks ago, DaBaby released a Bonnie and Clyde-inspired short film for his single “Find My Way,” starring himself and comedian B. Simone.
