These Dallas neighborhoods could be hardest hit by coronavirus

by

The coronavirus pandemic has shown how important it is to make a change in our health care system in America. There has been intensive research done to see what cities could be hit the hardest due to COVID-19. Specifically, in Dallas, it has shown that the poorest parts where majority of the residents are Black and Hispanic are in need of better health care. The researchers identified Dallas neighborhoods where residents who contract COVID-19 will be more likely to end up in the hospital — and possibly in intensive care or on a ventilator. That’s because these areas have the largest share of people with diabetes, heart disease and other chronic health problems associated with severe COVID-19 cases. Also at risk: people ages 60 and older with one or more underlying health problems. To prevent the spread of the virus remember to practice social distancing and to not leave your home unless it is for an essential activity or exercise. We encourage everyone to protect themselves and their neighbor. Stay strong Dallas!
