Despite her success, SZA claims her next album will be her last

by

Top Dawg Entertainment/RCA RecordsEven though her debut album Ctrl earned her five Grammy nominations and turned her into one of the hottest artists in music, SZA insists that the follow-up will be the final one she ever releases.

The singer tells Flaunt magazine, “I have so much to write about. I feel like I’m in a cage. I’m making the best album of my life for this next album and I know that…because it’s going to be my last album.”

And, as if that news wasn’t bad enough, SZA also reveals that, despite all her success, she’s “still miserable” and “still sad.”

However, she says she’s learning to deal with her insecurities and depression by focusing “on other s***.”

SZA explains, “I started working on my inner self — how I feel, and regulating my energy. And then the world around me got better.”

“When you’re at your real wit’s end, you’ve got to acknowledge God and have a transcendence. And God really held me down.”

She also thanks God for the fact that she left the Grammy Awards this year empty-handed.

As she puts it, “God didn’t give me the Grammys, because he knows I would have quit, like ‘I have nothing else to do.'”
