Did Rihanna Give the Real Reason She Cancelled Her Grammys Performance?

by

The Recording AcademyRihanna‘s scheduled Grammys performance Monday was cancelled due to what was said to be a case of bronchitis.  But was that the real reason?

TMZ quotes sources connected with the show as saying the singer reportedly went on a “hysterical” outburst after expressing displeasure with her pre-show rehearsal. The gossip site adds that Rihanna was apparently very upset and screaming loudly before canceling her showcase. As for her claims of bronchitis, sources reveal Rihanna’s voice sounded fine at her pre-Grammys rehearsal.

Rihanna, who performed two nights before the Grammys at the MusiCares event honoring Lionel Richie, was scheduled to perform her new hit, “Kiss Me Better,” off of her new ANTI album.

As previously reported, Rihanna cancelled her Grammys appearance just hours before the show.  Her rep told ABC News it was because her doctor put her on vocal rest for 48 hours since she was at “risk of hemorrhaging her vocal chords.”
