Diddy cancels his annual New Year’s Eve Party over COVID-19 concerns

ABC/Kelsey McNealDiddy has officially cancelled his annual New Year’s Eve Party amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. 

On Monday, the 51-year-old announced to his 7.1 million Instagram followers that his star-studded celebration will no longer take place this year.   

“To all my friends: In efforts to keep everyone safe & healthy unfortunately we are not having a NYE party this year!” wrote Diddy, with a heart emoji. “I hope everyone had a blessed holiday and wish you all the best for the new year!” 

Diddy is known for his lavish NYE parties.  Past guest lists have included the likes of Taraji P. Henson, Jermaine Dupri, Amber Rose, Rick Ross, Laverne Cox, 2 Chainz, Jeremih, French MontanaMigos and more, including Diddy’s five children.

Teyana TaylorMeek Mill, DJ Khaled, DaBaby, and Winnie Harlow were spotted at last year’s bash at Story Nightclub in Miami, according to TMZ.

While some were disappointed to miss this year’s festivities, many were happy Diddy decided to cancel his gathering amid the pandemic, which has now claimed the lives over 334,000 people in the U.S. and 1.7 million worldwide as of Monday afternoon, according to John Hopkins University.
