Mark Cant/FoxLast month, Mariah Carey‘s rep denied reports of any romantic involvement between the singer and Brett Ratner, and now the director is speaking up to put the whispers to rest.
“We’re great friends,” Ratner tells E! News. “I’m directing her video. I’ve been friends with her for 20 years.”
Although Carey was spotted with Ratner in St. Barts during a joint birthday celebration, he found the rumor to be humorous. “It makes me laugh actually,” he says. “It cracks me up. We’re great friends. She’s awesome and she’s amazing.”
Carey enlisted her friend to film the video for her new single, “Infinity,” which will premiere April 27.
