Don’t worry about the other stuff right now: SZA shares encouraging text from her mom

by

ABC/Randy HolmesFans have been given the opportunity to see where SZA‘s penchant for words comes from.

The Grammy nominee has shared a heartfelt text she received from her mom via Twitter.

The message begins, “Remember you can even eat an elephant one bite at a time. To help change feeling stressed out and overwhelmed, Jot down all the stuff that’s making you crazy, then write beside it what must be done NOW, what can be done LATER and what would be nice to do if you could but is OPTIONAL. Focus only on the NOW. Don’t worry about the other stuff right now.”

SZA’s mom gives her more suggestions on how to delegate her time, then ends her text by writing: “You’ve now made more space in your life for the things you love and want to do. Was this helpful at all? I need some honest feedback [pink hearts emoji].”

In February, a fan posted a video selfie taken by SZA’s dad that showed him listening to her song, “Broken Clocks.”

In the visual he talked about his love for the track by saying, “Every time I hear this song sweetie, I’m in tears. I love this song by you.”

“I love your whole album. But this is one of my favorite songs. Every time I hear this song I’m in tears,” he continued, then added, “I gotta stop this. I’m sorry,” before sniffling and wiping a tear from his eye.
