The 9,696 square-foot estate, which originally went on the market for $35 million, includes six bedrooms, nine bathrooms and a guesthouse, as well as a wine cellar, swimming pool and media room. It also features some spectacular views of the city.
The buyer of the property is a 36-year-old private equity firm founder who plans on demolishing the existing home in order to build a $100 million mansion, according to the newspaper.
Public records show Dr. Dre, whose birth name is Andre Romelle Young, purchased the property in 2011 for $15.4 million.
Last year the 49-year-old rapper/music producer spent $40 million on the four-acre Brentwood estate of supermodel and actress Gisele Bundchen and her husband, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. The Times reports he also owns a home along Malibu’s Carbon Beach and equestrian property in Hidden Hills, California.
Dr. Dre sold his Beats headphones company, which he co-founded with record executive Jimmy Iovine, to Apple for $3 billion in 2014.
