Earth, Wind & Fire on Fire: Band’s New Disc Scores High Chart Debut

by

EarthWindandFire.comLooks like fans are really glad to have Earth, Wind & Fire back. Now, Then & Forever, the band’s first studio album in eight years, has entered the Billboard 200 album chart at number 11 and the R&B album chart at number five. This makes it EWF’s highest charting disc since Raise, which came out all the way back in 1981.

In response to their impressive chart debut, singer Philip Bailey says, “I’m ecstatic! Onward and upward.” Percussionist Ralph Johnson adds, “It is our best work in 20 years. [I’m] super proud of it.”

Earth, Wind & Fire will perform “My Promise,” the first single from Now, Then & Forever, on tonight’s season finale of NBC’s America’s Got Talent. Other songs on the 10-track album include “Sign On,” “Splashes” and “Got to Be Love.” The band launches a six-week tour this Friday in Chicago.
