dick clark productionsElla Mai announced the 2019 American Music Awards nominations Thursday morning in New York City, and the British singer is competing in four categories, including New Artist of the Year.
Mai, who was nominated twice in 2018, is also up for Favorite Female Artist — Soul R&B. Her double platinum “Trip” is nominated for Favorite Song — Soul/R&B, and Ella’s self-titled debut album is up for Favorite Album – Soul/R&B.
Her competition for New Artist of the Year, and Favorite Female Artist — Soul R&B, includes Lizzo. The “Truth Hurts” singer/rapper is also nominated for Favorite Song — Soul/R&B for “Juice.”
Like Lizzo, Drake also received three nominations. Drizzy is up for Artist of the Year, Favorite Male Artist — Pop/Rock, and Favorite Artist — Rap/Hip-Hop.
The 2019 American Music Awards will air live from Los Angeles Sunday, November 24 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
