Ella Mai to take a “Trip” to Saturday Night Live

The British singer, who turned 24 years old on November 3, will make her SNL debut on November 17. Steve Carell, who stars with Janelle Monae in the upcoming film Welcome to Marwen, will host.

The same night that Mai is in New York City for Saturday Night Live, the Soul Train Awards will be taped in New Orleans. She’s up for four awards, including Best R&B/Soul Female Artist. Five days later, Ella will perform at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

Her single “Trip” is now number one on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop airplay chart, and her quadruple platinum single “Boo’d Up” is number eight.

Tickets are now on sale for Mai’s The Debut Tour. The North American leg kicks off February 12 in Vancouver, Canada, followed by her first show in the U.S. on February 14 in Seattle. The tour wraps up March 28 in San Antonio, TX.
