Courtesy of En VogueNineties singing group En Vogue closed out the 2020 Billboard Music Awards show in October with an epic performance of their 1992 anthem, “Free Your Mind.”  In celebration of the group’s 30th anniversary, R&B legends Rhona Bennett, Terry Ellis and Cindy Herron,  took the stage for one of their first performances this year after months of not working due to COVID-19.

Cindy tells ABC Audio their appearance was a memorable and “fun” experience.

“A career highlight [in] 2020 for us…was the Billboard Music Awards because we had not worked in about eight months,” says Herron. “It was a lot of fun and it was just such a great thing for us to do after having so much time off.”

While the pandemic has cancelled or postponed concerts and performances across the world, the iconic girl group has been busy planning to release new music: “We hope that we’re able to produce something for 2021. Stay tuned, for sure,” says Rhona.

The trio is also planning to follow through with their New Year’s resolutions for 2021.

“I make them,” adds Ellis, followed by Cindy, who says, “It’s a lifestyle, too, for us when we claim something like great health, we’re going for it. I hope everybody comes into great health and a feeling of more security amidst so much uncertainty.”

To close out 2020 on a more uplifting note, En Vogue will bless viewers with another epic performance at Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2021 — live from Los Angeles, hosted by fellow R&B singer Ciara. The annual celebration will begin airing on December 31 at 8 p.m. ET. on ABC.
