ABC RadioThe new season of their hit WE tv reality television show, Mary Mary, kicked off with sisters Erica and Tina Campbell addressing the future of the group, with the group’s producer and Erica’s husband, Warryn Campbell threatening to replace Tina. Now, Erica tells ABC Radio that season five attempts to give their fans much-needed answers on the show.
“I think because people love Mary Mary so much the only question people want to know is when are we getting together, and that’s the question we try to answer all season,” Erica says. “There are a lot of variables, a lot of other suggestions of what we could do — if we don’t get Mary Mary, do we get somebody else? And how do we handle? What do we tell Sony? Do they get just two new girls? — it’s just a bunch going on.”
Erica adds that they are also balancing family dynamics. “But in the meantime we are trying to maintain our sister relationship, because sometimes that’s what becomes challenging –you cross the line between business and family,” she says. “So we always want to make sure we keep that straight, the fact that we are sisters and we are together period.”
Tina adds that viewers also will see them “navigating” their solo spaces — both artists have already released one solo album a piece.
And in case you’re wondering, Tina hints that she’s looking forward to reuniting with her sister for another album.
“I think we’ve definitely grown. I’m really excited for when we actually do get back to Mary Mary, because I think it’s going to be great. I really feel like we’ve grown so much,” she says. “We still have a long way to go and as you see in the show, we have lots of ups and downs, but I think it’s going to a be a really interesting season for people to watch.”
