Erykah Badu Scores Her 10th Top-Ten Record with Phone Down

Courtesy of BETErykah Badu‘s single, “Phone Down,” has become the singer’s tenth top-10 record on Billboard‘s Adult R&B Songs chart. The track can be found on her mixtape, But You Caint Use My Phone, which was released last fall.

“It is always a pleasure working with an artist of Erykah’s stature and delivering a milestone chart topper makes it even sweeter,” said Senior Vice President of Promotion at Capital Music Group, Azim Rashid.  

“The success of ‘Phone Down’ should serve notice of more great music to come. Congrats Ms. Badu!”

Erykah has added several other impressive feathers to her music resume cap as well. She’s been named music supervisor for Comedy Central’s new animated series, Legends of Chamberlain Heightsand will also compose original music for the show.  

She also stars in the independent movie The Land, which is executive-produced by legendary rapper Nas. Both Badu and Nas came together to create the film’s theme song, “This Bitter Land.”
