Fans responded in the YouTube video comments with fire emojis and praise, accepting it as just a tease from Teyana’s upcoming album.

During a recent Instagram Live Q&A after the virtual screening of her documentary Assembly Required: Teyana Taylor’s House of Petunia, the R&B singer revealed both she and her husband, Iman Shumpert, are working on separate albums while in quarantine.  But they’re still practicing social distancing, working in separate home studios.

“Iman is in studio B, I’m in studio A. We both have our little caves,” Teyana said. “He got his man cave, I got my Auntie cave. We both locking in on albums.”

Teyana said fans “are going to be so happy” about her album, especially since its finally done, making it the first release since 2018’s K.T.S.E.  She said it’ll keep her signature R&B/hip hop style but will also feature a “vibe” fitting for any mood, as we endure the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I don’t really do fast songs like that,” Teyana said during the Live. “There are some head-boppers. It’s not super-fast — you can dance and you can cry and you can ride.”
