After giving fans the chance to preview Janelle Monae‘s much-hyped The Electric Lady before it hits stores, the singer has received an outpouring of compliments, many of which she retweeted.
One fan wrote, “You never cease to amaze me. 5 songs in & I already can tell that The Electric Lady is just as impressive as The ArchAndroid,” while another tweeted, “Advance listen to The Electric Lady reveals this is, indeed, the album we have been waiting for,” adding the hash tag “#genius.”
The singer responded with, “I remember selling my CDs out my boarding house on parsons street. Still humbled!” She later added, “Thank you. God is love.”
Judging from her Twitter timeline alone, many agree that she has created a “masterpiece,” which includes contributions from Prince, Solange, Erykah Badu, Esperanza Spalding and Miguel.
