Financial Ramifications of Coronavirus Spread across Several Industries

by

Retailers, small businesses and airlines aren’t the only industries that have been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic. A number of other industries have already suffered financial ramifications, some of which may never fully recover, a new study indicates. Other victims of the pandemic include the steel industry, which has seen demand for its product plummet as manufacturing plants and construction firms have closed down, and the horticulture industry, which has fewer nurseries to ship to, the study found. But possibly taking the biggest hit are charities, which have found people are far more reluctant to donate goods or money while facing an uncertain future. “Charities are to society what bees are to the environment,” says Caron Bradshaw, CEO of the Charity Finance Group. Charitable organizations are “essential to the fight to rebuild after this unprecedented disaster is over,” she adds.
