Governor Abbott Allows Malls, Restaurants, & More To Open On May 1st

by

In a news conference held on Monday, Texas Governor, Greg Abbott, issued an executive order that will go into effect on May 1st. The executive order will allow restaurants, malls, movie theaters, libraries, museums, and retail stores to reopen for business with a no greater than 25% capacity of patrons in cities and 50% capacity of patrons in rural counties of Texas. If a two-week flattening of the illness curve is seen after that initial phase of reopening, bars, gyms, and hair salons will be allowed to reopen by mid-May, the governor said. Abbott said barbershops, hair salons, bars, and gyms must still remain closed for now while expressing hopes those businesses will be able to resume business on or no later than mid-May.

Do you think it is too soon for Texas to reopen for business considering there are 25,297 confirmed coronavirus cases?
