He did well: Toni Braxton shows off huge engagement ring on British TV show, describes lupus battle

by

ABC RadioIn a recent appearance on the British TV show Loose WomenToni Braxton flashed a massive engagement ring, following months of speculation that she was engaged to rapper Birdman

After acting coy in a joking manner, the “Breathe Again” singer said in reference to her ring, “He did well. My gentleman friend.”

Toni also talked about her battle with lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease that causes inflammation in the sufferer’s internal organs, joints and skin.

She explained, “My lupus loves my heart, meaning it attacks it often. So I get pericarditis and a lot of things going on with it.”

“It’s an autoimmune disease and your body kind of fights itself. It kills everything, good and bad. I’ve been on chemotherapy and things like that before. But I’m doing great today.”

When it comes to touring and being onstage, Toni adds that she’s learned how to “pace my body.”

“If I’m feeling a little fatigued, I know to take a little break. I make sure I take my meds. I have great doctors and I just take it one day at a time. Sometimes I’m on stage, it’s not my great day. So sometimes it’ll be a lot of, ‘You sing!'”

As previously noted, a recent teaser for Braxton Family Values shows Toni telling her family the news that she and Birdman are engaged to be married.

Braxton Family Values premieres in March on WE TV.

In addition, her first solo album in eight years, Sex and Cigarettes, is scheduled to drop March 23.
