Here’s How You Can Protect Cancer Patients Amid COVID-19

As you may know, people with underlying conditions such as cancer, are considered at-risk patients for COVID-19.  If you or someone you know falls in this category the National Cancer Institute suggests that patients check and see if appointments can be rescheduled or if oral drugs could be taken. If that can’t be avoided, make sure a healthy person is getting the patient to and from appointments as well as making sure the patient’s hygiene is always ideal. “Life can’t be lived in a bubble,” says Dr. David Cohn of The Ohio State Comprehensive Cancer Center. “Anything you can do to make your friend or family member feel supported is beneficial.”

What suggestions do you have for anyone helping out someone with an underlying condition?
