For J Holiday, deciding what he needs on his plate for Thanksgiving to be a success this year is easy.
“Anything but okra,” he joked to ABC News Radio. “You know, it depends on what house you go to, you might get a plate full of okra. But no, I need, you know, the turkey, the macaroni and cheese.”
Holiday adds, “I need some string beans cooked right, I need some collard greens cooked right, some ham, yeah, I eat the swine. Let me see, I don’t really do the cranberries, I don’t do that too much. But yeah, that’s pretty much it.”
Like most people, the singer also knows what he needs to wash down his food. “Some spiked eggnog, that would be cool,” he says.
Holiday intends to enjoy Thanksgiving at home with family before he resumes promoting his album Guilty Conscience, which arrives on December 10. It’s the singer’s first offering since his 2009 sophomore disc, Round 2.
